What better way to celebrate someone's 5th birthday than to visit the holding. The trio took charge of the trampoline and the two of us spent a wonderful, warm time in the greenhouse (which is the same size as our current garden!) pricking out tomato plants.
So far we are feeling grateful for many things. Here is an edited list:
1. Our incredible children who have embraced the adventure expressing just small worries like, what will happen about ballet classes.
2. Mark and Marina who are passing on all their knowledge and love of the place and letting us run riot with our children already.
3. The woodland area at the end - our own woodland! We discovered on this trip that it is perfect for Easter Egg hunts.
4. The proximity to the sea. We had a windswept time of it with ice-creams and oysters on Mersea Island.

Here is a shot of Rebecca's hand and a very contented current resident. Follow Mark on twitter! They do great things.

I wonder what it's like to be an apple picker in the eighteenth century. I listen to a lot of songs by Woodie Guthrie and I read a lot about his life. To anyone who don't know he is the man Bob Dylan copied. He never denied that. All his lyrics were about how exploited apple and orange pickers were and how sad their lives was. It's far from the usual smiling pictures of apple pickers we see. It made me wonder would anyone rather be an apple picker or a worker in a vineyard? I guess if you don't own any business, it's always a sad world.
